These Shamrock Mosaics are a fun Kids Craft for St. Patrick's Day.
Every time we do a craft with construction paper, I save the scraps to use later. This is one of those activities that uses up some of our paper scraps. It is a fun holiday themed craft to practice skills such as cutting, tearing paper etc. You could even cut and use green color from a magazine or shop catalogue, like we did with our Magazine Tree. Well, we used what we had on hand. Putti loved tearing the green construction paper scraps in little pieces working on her fine motor skills.
Meanwhile, I drew a simple 4 clover on a thick sheet. She then applied glue all over and chose to do it using her hands, what a fun sensory experience.
Next, she placed the torn paper scraps on the glued area to finish the mosaic.
Here is her finished master piece Shamrock Mosaic. She was not happy that the paper scraps covered the marker lines, so I suggested she go over it and she did that as you can see in the top image.
And ten during the next few days, as we read more books about St. Patricks Day, we learnt that a 3 leaf clover is the original Shamrock and a four leaf clover is a luck thing. Then Putti wanted to make a 3 leaf clover too. That's what she made next but used paint chip samples.
