Kids made these festive crafts at my friend Aarati's house during Sankranti lunch last year.
Archana and her little son Advaith aged 6yrs made these adorable elephant treat cups to distribute ellu bella mixture amongst friends. Cover regular foam cups with colored paper and then cut elephant trunk, ears from black paper and glue them to the cup. Draw eyes and other features!
Sankranti Decoration at house done by a very talented friend of mine. You can find her creative ideas on her facebook page, Chithra's Creativity. It depicts a village house, its back yard trees, the new pot in which pongal is cooked, also the lady of the house.
A closer look at the Pongal Pot and the rangoli around it made with milk jug caps and painted pista shells. The pot is filled with cotton to depict the rice dish, pongal being cooked inside it.
One more from the same talented lady Chithra, for Sankranti in the previous year.
Gayathri decorated the pooja place like this for sankranti with paper tube sugar canes similar to the ones we had painted last year. Love the rangoli made of colored rice.
